Ray Blume, MA, LMFT

Ray is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been in private practice in New Jersey since 2000.  He received his master’s degree in 1995 from LaSalle University in Pastoral Counseling, with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.  He is an accredited member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators, and a clinical member of the New Jersey Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.


Ray is specifically trained in the Family Systems theoretical model which he utilizes in his practice to treat individuals, couples, and families for a variety of mental health, emotional, relational problems such as:  Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder ADHD/ADD, separation and divorce, blended families, grief and loss, anger management, PTSD, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol overuse, eating disorders, compulsive gambling, LGBTQIA+ concerns, infertility, sexual abuse, workplace violence and abuse, cultural/ethnic issues, injury and illness recovery, sexual problems, and dissociative disorder.  Additionally, he utilizes CBT, mindfulness practices, and behavior modification techniques. 


Ray also provides faith-based counseling and has expertise in working with military veterans.

Aside from his clinical work, Ray has been a certified Tai Chi/Qigong instructor since 2008 and incorporates slow gentle movements in treatment to help clients learn how to mindfully regulate somatic symptoms of physical and emotional distress as well as anxiety and depression.
