Merve Kuruca, MSW, LSW

Merve is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and received both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Social Work from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. She has been trained in mental and behavioral health, gambling counseling, and drug and alcohol counseling at Rutgers University, and is working simultaneously toward a license in drug and alcohol counseling (LCADC) and a clinical license in social work (LCSW).

Merve’s internship/practicum/work experience includes working with adolescents and adults in inpatient dual diagnosis treatment facilities, residential substance use treatment facilities, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient treatment facilities for mental and behavioral health, and outpatient substance use treatment facilities.

Merve uses a strength-based, client-centered, and a trauma-informed care approach when working with each individual client. She integrates motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment approaches into her practice. Merve is fluent in Turkish.
