Ayesha Banerjee, MSW, LSW

Ayesha is a dedicated therapist with a wealth of experience in social work. She earned

her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Rutgers University before pursuing

her passion for mental health by obtaining her Master's in Social Work from Columbia

University, specializing in advanced clinical practice.


With over 8 years of professional experience, Ayesha has worked extensively with

diverse populations facing a wide range of challenges, including domestic violence,

sexual violence, homelessness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health disorders,

and chronic health conditions. Her expertise extends across various domains, including

case management, prevention strategies, facilitating support groups, and conducting

educational workshops.


Ayesha's therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in a holistic perspective, recognizing the

interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in healing. She embraces a strength-based

methodology, empowering her clients to harness their inherent resilience and resources

to overcome adversity. Drawing from a diverse toolkit of modalities, Ayesha tailors her

interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her repertoire includes

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with motivational interviewing techniques, Solution-

Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Psychoeducation, and Mindfulness

exercises.


Beyond her clinical skills, Ayesha is fluent in Bengali and proficient in Hindi, allowing her

to effectively communicate with clients from multicultural backgrounds. Her cultural

competence enhances her ability to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive care,

fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
